"Under the direction of the Prophet Joseph Smith, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was officially organized on April 6, 1830, at the home of Peter Whitmer Sr. in Fayette, New York. Nearly 60 people attended the meeting, which consisted of prayer, sustainings, ordinations, the administration of the sacrament, and confirmations. At this meeting, Joseph Smith received the revelation now recorded in Doctrine and Covenants 21.
